- What is the difference between a compound miter saw and a miter saw?
- Compound miter saws are much more specialized simply because they do more than just miter cuts. They work in the same way as a standard miter saw with one difference. The blade has a pivoting arm that can be tilted to an angle other than 90-degrees. That means you can make bevel cuts in addition to miter cuts.
- What is a compound Mitre saw used for?
- Compound miter saws are capable of cutting miter, angled and crosscuts, as well as bevel, or sloped cuts. These saws have the same variety of angles that can be cut by making adjustments to the angle of the blade and the handle on the base. Compound saws, though, add in the ability to tilt the blade itself up to 45
